Work Description:
This color slide documents Clyfford Still's 1975 gift of twenty-eight paintings to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. The paintings lean against the walls of the unfinished T.B. Walker Gallery, which the museum designated as a permanent space to house the artworks. PH-919 (1974, cropped), PH-971 (1957), and PH-966 (1959, cropped) line the gallery from left to right. In 1976, the museum presented the paintings in the exhibition "Clyfford Still", on view January 8 through April 20.
