Work Description:
This color slide features an installation view at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California. Photographed through a doorway, a portion of PH-246 (1951-52, cropped) appears on the left. John Stephan, who purchased PH-246 directly from the artist, loaned the painting to LACMA prior to gifting it to the Art Institute of Chicago in 1962. On loan to the museum from 1961-63, PH-337 (1950, cropped) is on display to the right. Stanley Freeman stands in the doorway. Freeman's wife, Betty, composed an unpublished manuscript about Still and his artwork in 1968.
