Work Description:
This color slide features an installation view at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. On the left, a viewer stands in a doorway near Josef Albers's "Never Before" (1971). David Smith's sculpture "Becca" (1965) appears against the far back wall, followed by two unidentified artworks in small frames. Proceeding clockwise, Clyfford Still's PH-929 (1974) hangs adjacent to Jackson Pollock's "Autumn Rhythm (Number 30)" (1950, cropped). On loan from June 1978 through the conclusion of Still’s retrospective in February 1980, the museum exhibited PH-929 with its permanent collection of modern and contemporary artworks.
