This color slide depicts an installation view at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. PH-233 (1945) is on display to the left of a doorway, and PH-204 (1944) hangs to the right. In the background, PH-128 (1948), PH-920 (1974), and PH-919 (1974) appear within an adjacent gallery from left to right. Following the presentation of thirty-three paintings in the exhibition “Clyfford Still”, on view January 8 through April 20, 1976, the museum extended the showing of Still’s 1975 gift of twenty-eight artworks. The second rotation of the collection also featured the two paintings previously owned by the institution. With the acquisition of Still’s gift, the museum constructed a permanent gallery to house all thirty paintings, while movable walls allowed for the exhibition of select artworks.
