Work Description: 
This color slide depicts an installation view of the exhibition “Clyfford Still” at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. PH-261 (1962, cropped) extends from the left edge of the frame, followed by PH-393 (1956), PH-795 (1971), PH-971 (1957), and PH-973 (1959). On view January 8 through April 20, 1976, the exhibition featured thirty-three paintings. Still loaned three artworks from his personal collection to accompany his 1975 gift of twenty-eight paintings, in addition to the two previously owned by the museum. With the acquisition of Still’s gift, the institution constructed a permanent gallery to house the entire collection, while movable walls allowed for the exhibition of select artworks.
