Work Description: 
This color slide depicts an installation view at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. PH-969 (1954, cropped) extends from the left edge of the frame, and PH-233 (1945) occupies the wall to the right. PH-323 (1934) hangs within an adjacent gallery in the background. Following the presentation of thirty-three paintings in the exhibition “Clyfford Still”, on view January 8 through April 20, 1976, the museum extended the showing of Still’s 1975 gift of twenty-eight artworks. The second rotation of the collection also featured the two paintings previously owned by the institution. With the acquisition of Still’s gift, the museum constructed a permanent gallery to house all thirty paintings, while movable walls allowed for the exhibition of select artworks.
