Work Description:
This color slide documents Clyfford Still's 1975 gift of twenty-eight paintings to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. The paintings lean against the walls of the unfinished T.B. Walker Gallery, which the museum designated as a permanent space to house the artworks. PH-968 (1951-52, left) and PH-971 (1957, right) occupy the gallery. In 1976, the museum presented the paintings in the exhibition "Clyfford Still", on view January 8 through April 20.
