Work Description:
This color slide documents Clyfford Still's 1975 gift of twenty-eight paintings to the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art in California. The paintings lean against the walls of the unfinished T.B. Walker Gallery, which the museum designated as a permanent space to house the artworks. In the background, PH-198 (1943, cropped) extends from the left edge of the frame, followed by PH-204 (1944), PH-123 (1947), and PH-128 (1948). Proceeding clockwise, PH-261 (1962), PH-245 (1956), PH-84 (1952), and PH-920 (1974, cropped) line the wall to the right. In 1976, the museum presented the paintings in the exhibition "Clyfford Still", on view January 8 through April 20.
