This file contains correspondence between James Elliot, director of the Los Angeles County Museum, and Clyfford and Patricia Still. In the correspondence, the Stills and Elliot discuss their vacations and travel plans, exhibition planning, artworks, loaning Still's artwork to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (specifically PH-246, PH-337, PH-225), the conservation of Still's work, installation photographs, the loan of PH-247 (Big Blue), the loan of PH-222, discussion of the exhibition "New York School" at the Los Angeles County Museum in 1965 including invitations, reactions, and the ArtNews review of which Still responds that he would be pleased with the hanging of his works, and condolences for the death of Clyfford Still in 1980. It includes the Spring 1962 Los Angeles County Museum quarterly publication, 1963 museum calendars, a New York Times Magazine article about collectors in Los Angeles, and an article on New Art museums.
