Work Description:
|
In this blue monochromatic portrait, Clyfford Still and C. David Robinson, a San Francisco architect, converse within a gallery at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Following Still's gift of twenty-eight paintings to the museum in 1975, Robinson redesigned the T.B. Walker Gallery to house the entire acquisition. Robinson stares intently at Still, who appears to be speaking. Wooden canvas stretchers lean against the walls in the background.
