Work Description:
Teaching sketch of three dimensional blocks made with black ink. The forms appear to be representative of people, and may have a religious connotation. There are 9 forms with three long table-like objects, possibly a death bed for St. Francis, in the first third of the image. Each side has a triangular image and there is something, possibly with wings, on the top. The image appears to be sketched with graphite and drawn over in ink. There is writing on the verso: "Giotto - Florentine - 1276-1336 Death of St. Francis - Fresco - Santa Croce - painted 1325 - rediscovered 1841 _ whitewashed for centuries _ largely repainted"
