This file contains a catalog, "Abstract and Surrealist American Art" for the 1947 exhibition at the Art Institute of Chicago, signed by Clyfford Still. It also contains correspondence between A. James Speyer and Clyfford Still in which Speyer tells Still about the painting the received from John Stephan and Speyer hopes to have a larger Still show at the Art Institute, but Still declines at the time in 1963. Later in 1964, Still asks for the dimensions of the Art Institute's walls asking for the space that 6-7 Stills would be displayed, but Still ultimately decides against the show. Finally, in 1999 there are requests to reproduce a 1958 Still (PH-774) and a 1964 Still for books from the Art Institute, Patricia Still gives permission for the 1958, but not the 1964 painting.
