Work Description:
|
This file contains correspondence from The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts and Patricia Still and Sandra Still Campbell. There is a letter from 1945 to Clyfford Still thanking Still for his membership to the museum with a handwritten note congratulating Still on his success. An invitation to American Art Since 1945, a traveling exhibition from the Museum of Modern Art that was at the Virginia Museum in 1977. The remaining correspondence is from Patricia Still asking about a Still painting that the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts received which Frederick Brandt identifies as 1956-No. 1 (PH-981) which was a gift from Sydney and Frances Lewis via Edgar Berman. Letters from Sandra Still Campbell establish her feeling that the painting requires conservation and cleaning as the Indian Red has faded and it was not glossy.
