This file contains correspondence between Richard Miller and Patricia Still. It opens with a 1959 letter from Miller to Clyfford Still requesting the opportunity to purchase a painting, mentioning that he has seen Still's work in Ossorio and ben Heller's collections. Miller writes again in 1963 again requesting a Still painting and mentions that he is a serious art collector who only collects works that move him, Miller also mentions seeing Still's work at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and at the Los Angeles County Museum. Patricia Still tells Miller that Still is going back to working on painting, but will arrange a meeting the the next few months should the timing align. Still tells Miller that 1947-J and 1950-A No. 2 may be available for $35,000 and Miller has a week to respond. Miller responds to Still's letter informing that he could not afford $35,000 and he feels the price is not consistent in sales of other Still paintings. Still calls Miller "a fraud" in response. In 1973 Miller requests to commission a color lithograph for the University of Philadelphia's Institute of Contemporary Art and informs the Stills that Miller owns 1948-1 in their New York Apartment. Still appreciates the request, but declines doing any commission work.
