Work Description:
|
This file contains correspondence between Bradley Walker Tomlin and Clyfford Still. It opens with a 1950 letter from Tomlin to Still about the positive and well written reviews of Still's shows in San Francisco and how Tomlin wished New York had such good critics. The letter includes Tomlin's excitement that Still is considering moving to New York, the excitement around Rothko's early work being shown in New York, and pollock's hopes to move to New York City. Tomlin hopes the painting is going well. The file also includes an exhibition announcement for Bradley Walker Tomlin at the Betty Parsons Gallery and a letter from Lila Tomlin (Bradley's sister) thinking Still for his kind words upon Tomlin's death in 1953.
