Work Description:
|
This color slide features an installation view at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in California. On loan to the museum from 1961-63, PH-225 (1956, cropped) appears on the left through a doorway. To the right, PH-246 (1951-52, cropped) occupies the gallery wall. John Stephan, who purchased PH-246 directly from the artist, loaned the painting to LACMA prior to gifting it to the Art Institute of Chicago in 1962. A curator at the museum, James Elliot, leans against the doorframe.
