This file contains correspondence between Dr. Israel Rosen and the Still family. It opens with Rosen writing Clyfford Still to tell him how much Rosen admires Still's work. Rosen attended exhibition of Still's work including 15 Americans and the Albright-Knox Gallery. Rosen tells Still that he owns PH-177 and it hangs in the dining room. Still appreciates Rosen's letter and tells Rosen that Still knows their mutual friend Dr. Edgar Berman. Still suggests that they meet for lunch or dinner, of which Rosen invites Still over for a meal, which Still agrees. Sandra Still writes Rosen about PH-177 providing context to the history of the painting, including dating and showings of the work. Rosen appreciates the information and notifies Still that he saw the work at the Parsons Gallery, and that he does not intend to sell the work as it "looks magnificent" in their new apartment. Patricia Still writes Rosen about his involvement in the Baltimore Museum of Art and warns about the concerns with requests to borrow the work, but assures Rosen that any loan is of his own discretion as he owns the work. Rosen responds that he generally does not loan the work, but did loan it in 1960 in the 60 American Painters at the Walker Art Center, but otherwise it hangs on a wall alone in their apartment.
