This file contains correspondence between Clyfford Still and Kenneth Sawyer. It starts with a catalog of Dekooning from the Martha Jackson Gallery written by Sawyer and an article in the Hudson Review by Sawyer titled "A Dialogue on Current Painting" which Clyfford Still appreciated and sent congratulations to Sawyer on writing that article including Still sawing "It is one of the very few efforts to get some pertinent facts straight". Sawyer appreciate's Still's letter, calls Still the greatest living painter, and requests to see Still's new work, which Still asks Sawyer to contact him next time Swayer is in New York. Sawyer appreciates seeing the new works and introduces Still to the Bermans who seek to purchase a Still, who Still agrees to meet (and later sell to). In 1958, Sawyer and Still begin to discuss making a book of Still's work, but Still is wary of going forward with this project, though Sawyer promises to be accurate with the record and give Still final say. Sawyer updates Still on his health and they continually discuss their appreciation of Dr. Edward Berman. Still discusses the 1959 Albright Knox Show and the planned and cancelled Tooth Gallery show in London with Sawyer to have Sawyer write for those shows - Kenneth Sawyer excitedly agrees to write the forward for Albright-Knox. Sawyer introduces Still to Patrick Lannan. The file ends with Sawyer traveling to the Albright-Knox to prepare for the 1959 exhibition
