This file contains correspondence between J. Benjamin Townsend and Clyfford and Patricia Still. It starts with Townsend sending the still's a copy of a Buffalo art magazine called Audit about the Albright Knox exhibition and to give Still an opportunity to correct some of the errors in the magazine article from the interview Townsend conducted with Still. Patricia Still responds giving credit for his efforts in publishing the article, but clarifies some of the mistakes, specifically about Still quoting Rothko and Hubert Crehan's article in Art News. Townsend offers to conduct another interview to set the record straight, but Clyfford Still decides to send Townsend notes on his Gallery Notes of the Albright Knox Gallery and Audit article instead, but does invite Townsend to visit. The Stills send their notes on the article and a 1950 excerpt on a letter by Still about Mondrain and perfection. Townsend sends his updated interview to be published to the Stills which they give permission to publish. Still tells Townsend he is going to focus excessively on painting and stop displaying his works publicly. Townsend respects Still's decision but expresses disappointment.
