Work Description: 
This color photograph depicts an installation view of the exhibition “Paintings by Clyfford Still” at the Albright Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York. Clyfford Still poses next to PH-812 (1951, cropped), while PH-143 (1955, cropped) and PH-136 (1947) appear in the background from left to right. On view November 5 through December 13, 1959, the retrospective featured seventy-two artworks curated by Still himself. In 1964, the artist made a landmark gift of 31 paintings to the museum.
