Work Description:
|
This handwritten note originally accompanied a portrait of Clyfford Still and San Francisco architect C. David Robinson. Following Still's gift of twenty-eight paintings to the San Francisco Museum of Art in 1975, Robinson redesigned the T.B. Walker Gallery to house the entire acquisition. Movable walls allowed for the exhibition of select artworks. Jim Righter, Robinson's brother-in-law, is an architect in Boston, Massachusetts. Julie Augur served on the Clyfford Still Museum's Board of Directors from 2011-2013.
