The images in this file come from 35mm slide photography of Clyfford, Patricia, and Sandra Still's drive west toward Virginia and Pennsylvania, which they started on Sandra's birthday in June 1961. The family drove in Clyfford Still's early Mark series Jaguar automobile to look for property outside of New York city. Sandra returned home to New York by train when the family reached Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Clyfford and Patricia continued the search for a new place to live, and they bought the farm near Westminster, Maryland several weeks later. This file consists of slides that were photographed in June and developed in July 1961, as determined from context and processing imprints stamped on the slide frames: JUL 61N (Kodachrome)
