This printed catalog was published in conjunction with the exhibition "Paintings by Clyfford Still" at the Albright Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York. On view November 5 through December 13, 1959, the retrospective featured seventy-two artworks curated by Still himself, although only thirty-eight plates were reproduced in the catalog. A chronological list documents the titles and measurements for all of the paintings, which span the years 1936 to 1957. The publication also includes a foreword by Director Gordon Smith, Still's artist's statement in the form of a letter to Smith, and a brief biography of the artist.
