This printed catalog was published in conjunction with the exhibition "15 Americans" at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. On view April 9 through July 27, 1952, the group exhibition featured a diverse range of representational and abstract artworks by fifteen American painters and sculptors. The catalog includes statements of intent, biographical information, and black and white illustrations for each individual artist. As explained in the foreword, Curator Dorothy Miller arranged for the presentation of multiple compositions by these artists, which served as a departure from typical contemporary art surveys wherein one artwork represented each artist. Still exhibited seven paintings in a gallery space exclusively dedicated to his artwork alone.
