This black and white photograph depicts the stage at the Maryland Institute College of Art commencement ceremony, which took place outdoors at the Mount Royal Station. The college acquired and converted the former train station to art studio spaces in 1967. Photographed from the front row, this image captures the seated audience members at the side of the stage, as well as the edge of the podium. A railroad car appears beneath the train shed in the background.
