Work Description:
This black and white photograph depicts the modest house that Clyfford Still constructed himself in Westlock, Alberta, Canada between the spring and summer of 1946. Photographed from the road, this angle captures a side view of the white house. A small lawn separates the house from the sidewalk. A flat covered porch extends from the front of the house on the left, while a small addition protrudes from the backside of the house on the right. A tall vertical window on the side extends almost to the house's sloped roof. Horizontal clapboard siding covers the house's exterior. Bushes separate the property from the home next door. Piles of wood appear throughout the yard.
