This color photograph features the massive red banner announcing Clyfford Still's retrospective, "Clyfford Still: Paintings", at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. Situated between the structure's exterior central pediments, the banner hangs over the arched stained-glass window above the museum's front entrance. Still exhibited seventy-nine paintings at the Metropolitan from November 17, 1979 to February 3, 1980.
