Work Description:
This black and white portrait depicts Lillian Battan Still, Diane Still, and Sandra Still posing in front of the house that Clyfford Still constructed himself in Westlock, Alberta, Canada between the spring and summer of 1946. Lillian and Diane sit near the house's tall vertical window, while Sandra perches upon a nearby ladder that leans against the side of the house. Still's daughters smile for the camera, while Lillian averts her eyes downward. She holds a teacup atop her crossed legs. Sandra blocks the glare of the sun by positioning her arm above her face.
