In this black and white portrait of Clyfford Still, the artist poses before two of his paintings as installed at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, New York. Partially cropped out of the photograph, PH-170 (1947) appears on the left, while PH-399 (1946) appears on the right. Still wears thick-framed glasses and a suit and tie. He crosses his arms over his chest and looks directly at the camera. Still exhibited seventy-two paintings at the Albright-Knox Gallery in 1959.
