In this black and white portrait of Clyfford Still, the artist stands before a decorative wooden column in the foyer of his home at 312 Church Street in New Windsor, Maryland. Still sports a beard and wears a painter's smock over a white shirt and plaid tie. Facing forward, Still looks directly at the camera. He tucks the thumb of his right hand into the pocket of his smock, while his left hand grips the garment's lapel. A light source illuminates Still from his right. PH-369 (1951) hangs on the wall in the background.
