Work Description:
In this black and white portrait of Clyfford Still, the artist stands before a set of decorative wooden columns in the foyer of his home at 312 Church Street in New Windsor, Maryland. Facing his right, Still turns slightly to look directly at the camera. He smiles and positions his right hand on his hip. The artist sports a beard and wears a painter's smock over a white shirt and plaid tie. A light source from the left illuminates the right side of Still's face. PH-369 (1951) hangs on the wall in the background.
