Work Description:
In this black and white portrait, Clyfford Still poses before a set of decorative wooden columns in the foyer of his home at 312 Church Street in New Windsor, Maryland. The artist wears a painter's smock over his clothing, and sports a beard. Facing forward, Still looks directly at the camera. He tucks the thumb of his right hand into the pocket of his smock, while his left hand grips the garment's lapel. PH-369 (1951) hangs on the wall in the background.
