Work Description:
This contact sheet features eight installation views of the exhibition “American Art at Mid-Century 1” at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. On view October 28, 1973 through January 6, 1974, the exhibition featured twenty-six paintings and sculptures by twenty-three American artists. The presentation of these works demonstrated the diverse artistic styles of post-World War II New York. Frederick and Marcia Weisman loaned PH-115 (1951) from their collection of Clyfford Still's artwork to appear in the exhibition.
