In this partial black and white photograph, Clyfford Still sits upon the grass in Central Park. He positions his legs in front of him and grips his right wrist in his left hand so that his elbows rest over his bent knees. Looking to his left, Still smiles and laughs. He wears a white buttoned shirt with the sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a dark tie, and gray slacks. A cap rests on the ground between his feet. In the background, a fence divides the grassy area from a pathway, trees, bushes, and other vegetation.
