Work Description: 
In this color portrait, Clyfford Still and Patricia Still pose before a parking garage in San Francisco, California. The garage occupies the former site of the Metart Gallery, which existed in affiliation with the California School of Fine Arts. Still taught at CSFA (now the San Francisco Art Institute) from 1946-1950. Prior to his resignation from the institution in August of 1950, Still's graduate painting students organized a one-person exhibition of his artwork. The artist exhibited thirteen paintings at the Metart Gallery from June 17, 1950 through July 14, 1950.
