Work Description:
This color photograph depicts an installation view with selections from the permanent collection at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. The gallery features works by artists who associated with the Abstract Expressionist movement. David Smith's "History of LeRoy Borton" (1956) appears in the left foreground, while Clyfford Still's PH-671 (1944) hangs upon the wall to the right of the sculpture. Proceeding clockwise, Willem de Kooning's "Pirate (Untitled II)" (1981) occupies a receding wall. An additional Smith sculpture, "Australia" (1951), is situated before the doorway that connects the galleries. Jackson Pollock's "One: Number 31" (1950) dominates the wall to the right of the doorway. A man faces away from the camera near the right edge of the frame.
