This color photograph depicts an installation view of the exhibition "Clyfford Still: Paintings" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. PH-929 (1974), PH-1055 (1977), and PH-998 (1975) are positioned in the gallery from left to right. A viewer sits upon a bench in the foreground. On view November 17, 1979 through February 3, 1980, the retrospective featured seventy-nine paintings, which proved to be the largest presentation afforded by the institution to the work of a living artist.
