Work Description:
In this black and white group portrait, twenty women, eight children, and one man pose in the small yard of a house with white clapboard siding. Separated into three rows, the majority of the group's children congregate toward the left side. Seated on the grass on the far right, a young Clyfford Still bites his lip while looking toward the camera. His mother, Sarah Johnson Still, sits on the right edge of the bottom row, partially behind her son. Still and his mother both wear white clothing. This portrait probably features the members of Still's extended family.
