Work Description:
|
This black and white photograph features a detail of Clyfford Still's hand applying paint to PH-892 (1973). With a spatula, Still arranges black paint around a red circular shape. A pale yellow outline separates the shapes and forms a contrasting division between the fields of color. Sunlight reflects off of the layers of wet paint upon the canvas' surface. Still painted PH-892 at his studio in Westminster, Maryland.
