Work Description:
This black and white photograph depicts the construction of the Grand Coulee Dam in Grand Coulee, Washington. The dam's construction began in 1933 and concluded in 1942. Photographed near the base of the dam, this image captures a side view of the barrier's construction. Pipes and other materials litter the bank in the foreground, while scaffolding and cranes extend over the top of the dam's structure to the right. A steep hill projects beyond the construction site into the background.
