Work Description:
|
Three linear, figural presences are situated side by side and cover the composition almost from top to bottom edge. The composition is divided into a upper and lower half about one-fourth of the way up the canvas. The lower half is mostly white, and the upper half is black. The two forms on the left grow out of the white ground and are each bisected by a thick yellow lifeline. They also both have brown and white feathery forms falling from their sides. The larger form on the far right is filled with a thin application of sky-blue paint above the horizon line, but is filled below the horizon line with the same black pigment of the work's upper half. A red sickle-shaped region creeps into the scene from the bottom right corner and echoes the the hook-shaped base of the far-right form. Six orange specks dot the horizon line on the far right.
