Work Description:
A black form runs from the top of the canvas, where it fills the composition from left to right edges, down to the bottom edge, where it has gradually narrowed so that it only takes up about a third of the canvas' width. Both sides of the black form are irregular and jagged, weaving back and forth horizontally creating rib-like bulges on either side. A dark brown-black pigment fills the space on both sides of the black form at the bottom two thirds of the composition. Efflorescence on the surface of the pigment has caused these forms to appear gray. A small red form enters this brown area at the bottom left, and a white cloud-like passage floats across the widest area of the black at the top center. A yellow life-line runs from the composition's top to its bottom edge through the center of the black form and across the white form at top.
