Work Description:
|
The minimal use of color on this work includes mainly black vertical lines, with two splashes of crimson and blue. Two diagonal black lines and other forms emerge from the bottom of the work, curving and connecting in various ways to shape organic outlines. The central lines utilize the negative space to construct the illusion of a vertical mass, with three vertically extending internal lines. The bottom of the form has a burst of blue paint as an accent. Extending from one of the base black forms is another flare of color, this time crimson. The fusion of black on the white canvas, with only two small areas of other colors, creates a sparse, almost cryptic composition.
