Work Description:
|
In this jumbled, abstracted scene, the thin outline of a hunched-over figure can be made out in red. Several strangely shaped forms overlap the figure's outline and are modeled in a deep navy blue. Two thick perpendicular rod-like shapes originate in the center of the blue shapes near what seems to be a gear or other round mechanical element. One rod emanates and runs off the right side of the canvas and the other runs behind the figure and blue shapes off the top left edge of the canvas. The entire scene is enveloped in an impastoed creamy white pigment, which invades and breaks up the shapes at the center of the composition.
