Work Description:
|
The center of this vertically-oriented work has been left bare, so that the form rising through the center of the work feels as if it is pushing forward and backward simultaneously in the picture plane fusing the ideas of positive and negative space. The left and right edges of the canvas are filled with a volcanic black pigment, and a jagged orange form enters the bare canvas form from the top center edge. Within the orange form at the top center edge of the canvas lies a small blue form. A linear, lightning-like bolt of white shoots through the center of the bare canvas form up towards the orange, and a tiny red lifeline barely enters the composition from the bottom edge just right of center.
