Work Description:
|
A brown cliff-like form rises from the bottom left corner. Its top edge gradually inclines as it nears the center of the composition, where it falls in a sharp vertical drop-off down to the bottom edge just right of center. A smaller but mirrored form painted in white is positioned just to the right of this brown form and runs off the right edge of the canvas. A small orange form sits in the bottom right corner surrounded by the white pigment. The ravine between the two forms is created through Still's use of exposed canvas, which also then fills the entire top half of the composition with the exception of a small white form and a small black form jutting down into the scene from the top center edge.
