Work Description:
Two figures are shown hulking above the low horizon, bent over as they reap the wheat at their feet. The figures walk towards the left edge of the canvas. They each have elongated, oversized arms, which are shown in parallel to their legs. Streaks of red color their fingers and forearms, suggesting the hard labor of their duties. The figure in the front wears a red, collared shirt and blue jeans, and has a bundle of wheat under his proper left arm. Behind him, the second figure wears a yellow, long-sleeve shirt and blue overalls. Both figures wear dark, clunky shoes. The sky is lit from the center of the canvas, and white light radiates from this area, haloing the figures in the foreground and merging with the dark blue sky beyond.
