Verso painting of PH-621
Work Description:
Painted on the verso of PH-621, this work is a fragment cut on its right and bottom edges from a larger composition. Thus, what remains is the top left corner of the original work. The background of this work is painted in varied tones of reddish-maroon, brown and black, creating a swirling, hellish scene. From the bottom and right cut edges, gray, black and white bone-like forms emerge and are piled on top of one another. Three large black totems are silhouetted against the background at the top right, three whitish parallel rib-like forms are painted side by side shooting from the bottom right corner up and to the left.
