Work Description:
|
This monumental, horizontally-oriented canvas is composed of vertical bands of color separated by areas of bare canvas. On the left, a band of unpainted canvas is interrupted by a thin teal lifeline that almost runs to the top edge from bottom. Next, an area of deep blue runs up to the top edge from bottom, over to the right, and back down to the bottom edge, surrounding an amorphous, floating orange form. A thin white line of bare canvas interjects the blue band to the right of the orange. To the right of this, starting at about the center of the work and running over almost to the right edge is a yellow expanse that is surrounded on top and bottom by unpainted canvas. At the top center edge, a small red form extends into the scene. Finally, a vertical blue band runs along the far right edge.
