Work Description:
|
In this striking work, a vertical form slashes across the composition from top to bottom. A second, smaller form rises at the bottom left. Both forms are created through negative space, as they are both left unpainted. They are surrounded by an inky blue-black field, in which the outline of a hulking form can be barely distinguished. The varnish covering the two forms has yellowed over time, thus transforming the two forms into glowing golden presences amidst a deep dark landscape.
